Guyana Amazon Warriors, however, displayed the perfect mix of patience and aggression, chasing down the target with 171/7 in the final over of the match. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Fortress Falls

The chase wasn’t smooth sailing for the Warriors. At one point, it looked like the Falcons were on the verge of defending their total, especially when Guyana struggled to keep up with the required run rate. Shimron Hetmyer and Shai Hope, two of Guyana’s key players, found themselves at a standstill in the middle overs, pushing the required rate up to almost 16 runs per over in the last four overs. Despite this, the Warriors kept their composure.

The real turning point came when Romario Shepherd unleashed a brutal assault on the Falcons’ bowlers. His powerful sixes brought the required rate down to a manageable level, providing hope for the Warriors when all seemed lost. But it was Pretorius who finished things off in style, scoring 18 runs in the final over, including three consecutive fours and a match-winning six.

Gudakesh Motie, who was named Player of the Match, contributed significantly to Guyana’s victory. His bowling performance kept the Falcons from running away with the game during the first innings. But it wasn’t just the bowlers who played a key role. Dwaine Pretorius, with his nerve of steel, became the hero of the night by smashing Mohammad Amir for 18 runs in the final over, including the winning six.

Mohammad Amir, despite his brilliant early overs, faced a tough time in the death overs. Conceding 36 runs in his final two overs proved to be the deciding factor in Guyana’s favor. The Falcons’ strategy faltered as Amir missed his mark in the final moments, allowing Pretorius to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
